Last night, the Husband invited our neighbors, B & H, over to watch the UT game. Long story short, I took the opportunity to attempt my first ever chocolate cake.
The recipe I used was one from the Barefoot Contessa (out of a cookbook given by my Aunt B at my bridal shower) that I have been eyeing for months now.
After a slight oopsie (hint: they are not kidding when they suggest you temper your eggs) and a replacement run to the grocery store, the cake was baked, the frosting was made and our guests were treated like guinea pigs.
Zee cahhhk, my friends, was a hit. It was so super rich that, in the future, I'll skip the frosting and dust the cake with powdered sugar. Yum.
